Workplace: Rhodes Island
Salary: $19/hour
Benefits: Health, pension and other

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Certified Nursing Assistants or CNAs provide personal care to seniors in their homes.

This can involve many types of tasks, and no two days are the same.

In some cases, you may be required to assist your client with personal care (showering, toileting, etc.).

Some customers may be recovering from hospitalization or illness, or may be in geriatric care, and CNAs are responsible for monitoring and reporting any problems, while ensuring their comfort and safety.

Still others may have different needs, such as help getting to the grocery store or a doctor's appointment, or assistance with meal planning and preparation.

The employer will personally interview all candidates in person via video call.

The quality we look for in a CNA is compassion and care for the patients they serve.

Experience is not required, but as with any job, it would be helpful and will provide any candidate with an advantage in the selection process.

Due to the nature of this role, strong English communication skills are also required.

There is little public transportation in the United States, so the ability to drive may not be a strict requirement, but the lack of a driver's license will create inconveniences in both your personal and professional life.

Critically, these CNA roles require obtaining what is called the Rhode Island Nursing Assistant License. This involves a period of classroom learning followed by hands-on work, culminating in an exam (test) that you must pass. This employer is licensed by the state to administer the classes and test, so it will be done in small groups at their facility. Since certification also requires state residency, it is not possible to do this in advance and we have structured the job certification requirements so that candidates can be hired as long as they are able to obtain the necessary licensure within 120 days of becoming eligible. If you would like, we can provide you with more information on the licensing process and requirements. However, we are confident that almost anyone who wants to get the license will be able to do so, there is a lot of information that you will learn and be trained on while you are doing the training, but it is not a highly technical or overly complex exam that you need to pass.
